A CUSTOM STEEL BIKE with a distinctive ITALIAN flair [Custom Bike of the Week]

In this video, I’m going to show you a custom bike with a distinctive Italian flair. It’s a Portofino Premium with a custom paint job that has Italy written all over it. I’m Alex, and we are at the Battaglin workshop, the place where the bike was designed and built. Let’s take a closer look. Anthony, the owner, is a businessman in the pharma industry from Encinitas, California. When he got in touch with us, he knew exactly what he wanted. His dream bike was the Portofino Premium, the most exclusive model of the Officina Battaglin collection. In fact, he was looking for a unique bike made by someone with an indisputable racing legacy. Anthony’s Portofino was custom built to his measurements after an individual consultation with our founder Giovanni Battaglin. On the top tube, Anthony requested a special plate on which was engraved a mantra that has guided his successful career. For the paint job, Anthony wanted his Portofino to recall its Italian origin. He liked the Italian flag paint scheme with the cromovelato red and green, but he wanted the contrast between the colors to be more pronounced. That’s why we came up with a white paint on some specific parts of the frame usually finished in chrome. The full build includes some of the best components in the market. Anthony loves electronic shifting, so we equipped the bike with SRAM’s Red eTap AXS 12-speed groupset. The wheels are the all-new Campagnolo Bora WTO 45-mm carbon clincher, Campagnolo’s first tubeless-ready carbon rims. We completed the build with the Deda Elementi limited-edition Superleggera RS handlebar and stem with titanium screws. That’s it for this Portofino Premium. Anthony can’t wait to ride his brand new custom bike, so I’d better go pack it! I hope you enjoyed this video.
